about

“Here’s a drum machine, here’s a synthesiser, now make an album!” So describes Colin Potter about the furtile period of the late 70s and early 80s nascent DIY electronic scene from which he made his name.

Sacred Summits presents “Entering Again” taking the 1982 cassette only album “A Gain” as a starting point, with the inclusion of additional tracks and alternative versions.

The ethereal drone of opening track, On Entering York Minster, sets the tone for the album perfectly and sees Colin’s explore a more introspective but uplifting piece than he had produced to that date. Gone are the vocals, guitar and rudimentary percussion of his early music for a more confident and singular sound.

Both the ambient build of Rooftops and cold wave of Mainland - a track that Colin has reworked and recreated many times across several releases - are then presented, before the finale Hills and York Minster, Side Entrance are included as special additions.

This is the first of a number of releases of Colin’s music coming on Sacred Summits and compliments archival issues from Dom Martin’s Deep Distance label and planned releases in 2015 on Dark Entries Records.

Together they show a collection of music for fans eager to look before his later work as a member of Nurse With Wound and an important document of early British electronic exploration.

As ever the release comes in beautiful hand silk-screened and numbered sleeves, with remastering coming via Dubplate & Mastering and with special liner notes from Colin himself.
